Although the exact locations were not disclosed, the Hammond Police Department has announced it will set up DWI checkpoints over the upcoming Labor Day weekend.  The checkpoints will run through September 3 and September 6 "between late evening and early morning hours," according to the release.

"We are giving ample warning to all motorists that if you drink, do not drive," the force wrote. "If you drink and drive in Hammond, expect to be stopped by the Hammond Police Department. If it is determined that you are driving while intoxicated, you will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law."
